Butthole Surfers - The Channel, Boston, MA 1987/1988

I received a request for the 1987 and 1988 Boston shows, so here they are.

Without a long diatribe..(HA!...yeah right!)

the band played three warm-up shows before embarking on their third tour of Europe in the summer of 1987; one in Dallas, then this here in Boston, then the Cat Club in NYC...my first ever BHS show!...

They were using rented equipment for these two gigs, and they struggle a bit with it at times, but it makes fer a really interesting show...This one is a true rarity, only ever found on one list, that of Malcolm Tent and his 'Trash American Style' store, which was an instituion in the fine state of CT for the longest time, and which sadly closed it doors a few years back...He's still around carrying rare records fer cheap, you should hunt him down and buy stuff from him!...

The 1988 sticks pretty much to the standards fer the Fall tour, although includes one of the only "Tornadoes" they played on that tour...it falls apart a bit, but the show overall is quite good, sound is good, not great, though, it includes an odd harmonica jam during the ending Gibby rant that is really effective in melting yer brain...I don't often track out ending jams, but this one deserves it...

So, no bells and whistles here, just two gigs that ya all should enjoy...

In doing so, please show a little respect observing the protocol:

Do not sell it!
Do not disseminate in MP3 Format!

Thanks!
